Brenda's latest collection explores the effect of  "Halation" which is the result of black and white film that has been overexposed. The effect is described as the spreading of light beyond its proper boundaries to form a fog around the edges of a bright image in a photograph. The bright "halo" effect gives her otherwise muted palette a vibrant energy. Using this effect she asks her viewers to see beyond the obvious.   Her subjects may give the viewer more questions than answers. Where are her subjects going? Are they leaving or heading towards something new? Is leaving a sad event? or an accomplishment? Her still life subjects are everyday objects that may appear peaceful or unsettled depending upon one's point of view.
